The G3 from the Heckler & Koch company quickly became a legend, so it was no wonder that this technology was also wanted to be used on a submachine gun. The short, shooting device quickly found buyers worldwide. In 1964 the MP5 saw "the light of day" and probably nobody suspected that after so many decades it would still be at the forefront.
